Mini shelters
On Wednesday at Claremont we spent a whole day with the group designing and building tiny shelters to deal with every type of problem: floods, wild animals, migrating tribes…
Each group spent an astonishing amount of time and care foraging for materials, choosing the right site, and experimenting with construction techniques.
The results speak for themselves
This was an entire fortified camp, with a moat, berm, and pallisade. all 6″ tall!
The world’s tiniest tree house, with a triangular frame design they came up with all themselves.
Finally, everyone met to discuss each design. It was fantastic to watch older and younger children meet and talk on equal terms about their problems and the solutions they found.
